IMG_7691

The Game Can’t Love You Back by Karole Cozzo is a young adult, enemies to lovers sports romance novel about Jamie and Eve. Jamie and Eve are both pitchers on their high school’s baseball team. At the beginning of the story Jamie and Eve can’t stand each other, but as the story progresses so does their attraction to each other.

I really loved this book. I thought it was so cute and funny too. I was laughing out loud, throughout the book. I thought the writing style and plot were good. I also adored Jamie and Eve. My rating for this book is five stars.

Review: Flat-Out Love

Flat-Out Love by Jessica Park is a book about a girl and her experiences as a first year college student. While this book packs a punch and made me sob, it was still a well-rounded novel and I absolutely loved everything about it. I loved the story line, characters, and writing style. I flew through this book. I did not want to put it down and it kept me on the edge of my seat. I look forward to reading more of Park’s works. I rate this book five out of five stars.

Review: This is Not a Love Scene

I received an arc copy of this book from the publisher. This is Not a Love Scene was written by S.C. Megale and is a debut novel. I cannot even begin to tell you what this book is about as I was not interested in it, so therefore I could not comprehend it. I had a difficult time connecting with the characters and the writing style. After I got about halfway through the story, I dnf’d the book. I am very grateful to Wednesday Books for sending me an arc copy to review, however this book just was not the story for me. Hopefully there are other people that would like it. My rating for this book is one out of five stars.

Review: Dumplin’

Dumplin’ was written by Julie Murphy. The book is about a plus size girl who enters a beauty pageant. I thought that this would be one of the books that would hold my attention and would really like. However, that is not the case at all. I could not really jive with it. The story did not hold my attention well and I did not like the writing style. I am hoping that I like the movie better. My rating for this book is two out of five stars.

I received an arc copy of The Girl He Used To Know by Tracey Garvis Graves from Fresh Fiction.

This book is about an autistic young woman and how she navigates through college and life. I absolutely adored this book. I loved everything the book had to offer. The writing style, main characters, and storyline just flowed nicely together. I thought the character development was strong and loved seeing how the main character grows and develops throughout the novel. There was not a thing about this book that I did not love. My rating is five stars.

Review: Broken Rules

I received an arc copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I have such mixed feelings about this book. It started out strong and was really into it, but then I found myself skimming the second half of the book. I burnt out on the book pretty quickly. I did like the characters and the story was ok, but I did not love it. It has potential. I am still interested in trying out other books by this author. My rating for this book is two out of five stars.
